CalCog expands refrigerated storage and production capacity at US facility to support cold chain clinical supply demand.
Caligor Opco, LLC (“Caligor Coghlan” or “CalCog”), a global expert in clinical supply services, announced it has expanded its cold chain storage and production capacity at its global headquarters in Texas, US. The expansion comes as a response to the increasing demand for cold chain storage solutions and significantly increases CalCog’s capacity to store and manage temperature-sensitive clinical supplies.
“CalCog’s client base is mainly comprised of small, clinical-stage biotech and pharma companies,” said Kerry Myers, Chief Business Officer at CalCog. “Many of our clients have limited stability data; maintaining the approved temperature range while the investigational product is in our facility is critical. This added 2°C-8°C controlled storage follows our recent addition of multiple ultralow, -80°C, freezers, highlighting our commitment to providing our clients with a full range of IMP storage, packaging and distribution capabilities.”
The state-of-the-art cold room provides over 19,000 cubic feet of additional storage, an additional cold chain clinical packaging suite, and a segregated cold chain pack out area. The space was designed to significantly minimize the temperature excursions investigational products would otherwise experience during packaging and labeling or at pack out for distribution.
